A la fin des années 70, Texas Instrument, mettait sur le marché un jouet qui faisait découvrir au grand public une fonction alors inconnue : la synthèse vocale.
Les machines pouvaient enfin parler.
At the end of the 70s, Texas Instrument put on the market a toy that made the public discover a function then unknown: speech synthesis.
The machines could finally talk.
Cette machine proposait une série de mots que l’utilisateur devait épeler en l’introduisant au clavier. En cas d’erreur, la machine proposait deux nouveaux essais, à la troisième erreur, le Speak & Spell offrait l’orthographe exacte.
Afin d’élargir le vocabulaire du jeu, Texas Instrument proposait des extensions. C’est pourquoi, aujourd’hui, après la conférence télévisée qui s’est tenue à la Maison-Blanche le 28 février 2025, j’offre au fabricant une addition.

This machine offered a series of words that the user had to spell by entering it on the keyboard. In case of error, the machine offered two new attempts, at the third mistake, the Speak & Spell offered the exact spelling.
In order to broaden the vocabulary of the game, Texas Instrument offered extensions. That’s why today, after the televised conference held at the White House on February 28, 2025, I offer the manufacturer an addition.
