La bureaucratie de notre belle France montre sa capacité à ne pas tenir ses promesses. Susan et moi faisons partie des 800 couples binationaux séparés par la COVID qui souhaitent se retrouver ici, en France. Notre dossier a été reçu par le Consulat de Miami qui l’a transmis à l’administration centrale il y a 52 jours. Depuis nous sommes assourdis par le silence de l’administration. Ni refus, ni demande d’information complémentaire, ni, c’est évident, d’acceptation.

Donc, face à cette muette muraille, avec Susan, pour qu’enfin nous nous retrouvions après plus de 200 jours de séparation, nous avons organisé un séjour de quatre semaines à Sint Maartens, l’accueillant côté hollandais de Saint Martin. Lundi 5 octobre sera notre Saint Valentin.

Il va de soit qui si par un Miracle, à ce jour improbable, l’administration me donnait tort en nous transmettant le Laisser-Passer, nous interromprons notre séjour dans l’accueillant Paradis pour revenir immédiatement nous isoler dans notre nid de tranquillité à Bourg la Reine.

The bureaucracy of our beautiful France shows its capability of promises keeping avoidance. Susan and I are one of the 800 bi-national couples separated by COVID who wish to meet here in France. Our file was received by the Consulate and sent to the central administration 52 days ago. Since then we have been deafened by the silence of the administration. Neither refusal, nor request for additional information, nor, it is obvious, acceptance.

So, facing this silent wall, with Susan, in order to finally meet again after more than 200 days of separation, we organized a four-weeks stay in the welcoming Sint Maartens.
Monday October 5 will be our Valentine’s Day.

It goes without saying that if by a most unlikely Miracle, the administration proves me wrong by transmitting the Permit, we will interrupt our stay in the welcoming Paradise to isolate ourselves in our nest of tranquility in Bourg la Reine.
